oops

So I know it's been a long time since I updated and I will attempt to do better about it (sorry, Crystal...I know you're disappointed)...

We are settling in nicely and enjoying the NON-snow weather! (it's 60 here today...just sayin) I got a job about 2 weeks ago and start on January 5th. I will be working nocs on a Med/Surg unit at a local hospital. It'll be so different because my only hospital experience was Union. I do know that my new employer still paper charts (HUH??) but will be going computerized by mid year 2010. PHEW! I have fabulous benefits and received a sign-on bonus of $5k. WOOHOO!! One of the benefits (my favourite one) is that the hospital pays you up to $200 a month for your student loan payments with a maximum of $25K...and there's NO committment on my part!!! The hospital is part of a huge network of hospitals so I can transfer anywhere I want if there is a spot available. I'm pretty excited.

Kye and I are leaving in the morning for Christmas in Napa with his siblings and parents and then my kids are coming up from Dec. 28th until at least the 30th if not thru the beginning of the year. We're both REALLY excited for both trips, although I'll admit that I'm nervous about meeting his folks. *shrug* they'll love me or they'll hate me.

I just got home on Sunday from Oregon for 6 days. My best friend, Vonni, had her mastectomy and Kye gave me a trip up there as my Christmas gift because he knew how much it would mean to her for me to be there. Sweet guy huh???

oh...PS...Crystal: remember all of the scrubs I got rid of??? We have NO dress code. SHIT!!! lol
