Choices

Today, my "little brother" (he's 6' and just shy of 300 lbs. so "little" he's not...but he is my younger sibling) sent me a text with the following quote (I have no idea where it came from originally)...

"This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, in it's place is something that you have left behind...let it be something good."

I've been thinking about this a lot today as I am in a pretty big funky place right now emotionally. I've got a lot on my plate and I'm trying to figure out how to manage it all without being a) a total bitch; b) a whiney ass; c) a puddle of tears; or d) all of the above. I'm going to be contacting the doc on Monday for a low dose anti depressant. No shame in helping myself become more managable emotionally.

So, friends...choose how YOU spend today and make sure it's worth it.

  1. There is no shame in seeking help when we get overloaded with life. Just remember to breathe.

Know that you have lots of people out there that love you and support you. Consider this a virtual hug.

In my opinion no day is wasted. Even if you have a day where you do nothing productive, it is still a good day. Sometimes we need days where we do nothing at all but recharge our inner batteries. All days are good when you wake up in the morning and are still breathing.
